Collaboration with Partners Hope Hospice Center
February 2025-October 2025… in Missoula, Montana
Twelve 14”x14” woodblock prints of Montana native trees.
Carved, printed and painted by hand.
Exploring themes of vitality, resilience, transformation, letting go, and dying have been a core part my artistic practice. Thus, being asked to create 12 woodblock prints for the dying and their families was a great honor. We decided to create one image per bedroom for the brand new hospice building in Missoula, Montana. A singular hand-carved block rest at the threshold of each bedroom. This block’s hand-colored print is framed in each bedroom. So, as people pass from threshold to sanctuary, the hard work and beauty of living, loving, and letting go is there to take in.
Each woodblock print will soon be available to purchase on my website.
I have much more to say about this work and the process of making it…so I shall return to fill in more soon…
